Purpose of the Role
Owing to continued expansion of our Utility sector we have several opportunities for Quantity Surveyors to join our teams around the UK. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in some of the most complex and challenging projects in the UK. We are looking to attract the finest talent to be part of this journey as we mobilise for a number of key opportunities across a broad portfolio of Utility programmes.
The role focuses on effective cost management, NEC contract administration, and commercial leadership to ensure efficient, transparent delivery aligned with client objectives. The Quantity Surveyor will drive value, manage risk, build effective stakeholder relationships, and champion commercial best practice throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer NEC4 contracts in accordance with project and governance requirements
- Control and implement contract variations efficiently, ensuring timely and compliant agreement
- Maintain accurate cost control, monitoring, and forecasting
- Continuously improve the quality and reliability of cost forecasts and budgets
- Work collaboratively with client and contractor teams to achieve project objectives, KPIs, and value outcomes
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
- Hold, or be working towards, membership of an appropriate professional body or equivalent such as MRICS
Minimum Experience
- Practical experience in administering the NEC3 & NEC4 ECC contracts
- Experience working on complex infrastructure projects within highly regulated industry
- Experience managing contract cashflow, contract governance and change
- Demonstrable experience administering contracts using CEMAR
- Proven experience in cost control and basic estimating
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Teams, Access, and PowerPoint
- Practical, hands-on experience administering NEC4 ECC and/or PSC contracts
